When I was younger, I remember being slapped the shit out of by my mom because I changed the station during her favorite song of all time. I had never heard of it at the time, but I NEVER forgot it. And soon, it became one of MY favorite songs of all time.

While we were stuck in traffic, I played it and nobody got slapped the shit out of. This time.

She is currently training her young niece, Grace, whose strong interest in preserving the tattooing tradition among the Kalinga, a tradition that has died out over years of colonization among the rest of the Philippines especially among the Bisayans who were called the Pintados, “the Painted Ones,” by the Spaniards as they were known to be covered in tattoos all over their body, will keep the tradition alive.
